Created in 1903, the Dallas Museum of Art features a permanent collection of more than 23,000 works of art, including rare pieces from Africa, Europe, Asia and the Pacific Islands. With a focus on world art, temporary exhibitions have featured such titles as "Splendors of China's Forbidden City," and "Before Impressionism: French 19th-Century." The museum occupies a lovely building with a fountain out front, in downtown, near the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.
