Dr. Chip Cannon and Dr. Amanda Randle are both compassionate, understanding well trained Doctors of Veterinary medicine. Both run a low cost clinic for people in need. I have received excellent care for my pets. They are both up front with you and don't try to do unnecessary treatments. I would highly recommend both of these wonderful doctors.

I would not recommend City Vet / Dog Lofts Oak Lawn. I 've had bad experiences there for two main reasons: 1) Poor treatment of my pet by the staff. On several occasions I picked up my pet after day care and she was in a cage. They did not raise any issue about it but when I noticed and asked they said it was because she jumped their gate. My dog is not very large and it speaks to the fact that the facilities are poor. More importantly, the fact that they didn't offer any information about my dog by proactively telling me she was locked in a cage until I noticed it was quite troubling. This, combined with the general unattentiveness of the staff, caused me to take my dog somewhere else. 2) Unacceptable financial practices. I put my credit card on file and they sporadically charged it for my visits. This was fine since I gave them the benefit of the doubt while I was going there several times a week. However, almost a year after not bringing my dog there I noticed a $40 charge on my card from The Dog Lofts. No one called to tell me they were charging my card. When I called to inquire they were quite short. She said that they'd done an audit and found that I wasn't charged for 3 days. But she said, "don't worry, I didn't charge you the finance charges or late payment fees." Incredible. You have my card on file yet somehow this is my fault? No apology was offered for not notifying me a year later that they were charging my card or explaining why. I would not recommend this place to anyone with there being exponentially better alternatives within 2 blocks of this place.

I have not used the veterinary services at City Vet, but I would strongly discourage anyone from using their boarding facilities. 1. Twice my reservations were lost. Rebecca, the reservation manager was kind enough to override the fact that they had no record of my reservation. 2. My dog got kennel cough even though she had been vaccinated, which I understand can happen, but has never happened at any other kennel. 3. On her second visit she returned with mucous in her eye. 4. I opted for the bath on the day of pick up, but she was dusty and shedding terribly -- something a bath usually minimizes. 5. I boarded her for five days and four nights recently and she appeared as though she had not eaten the entire time she was there -- bony! In spite of that, the bag of dog food I had left which usually lasts her three weeks was almost empty, and I had to ask them for it. 6. They lost her toy. 7. I hate to say it, but basically it was just better than her being out on the street for five days.
